Happy Holidays From Réve!

What an amazing year of growth it's been for Réve! I can't be grateful enough for the support of my family, close friends and coworkers. If there was a lesson to be learned this year it is the tried and true cliché, everything happens for a reason.

Recently, an unforeseen turn of events has brought new opportunities and possibilities for 2012 which I am very excited about! I want to encourage everyone to follow their dreams, believe in themselves and hold strong to their faith as we soon start a new year. I'm humbled with the outpour of encouragement from those who support this little dream in the making.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

2011...Where did you go?

Another year bites the dust. It was last November when I started the blog and I've made great waves since. Working full time and trying to build a business proves to be one of the most enduring and challenging things imaginable. However, when you consider how long you've been at it with such small amounts of progress and you still have that since of passion and vision--you know you'll see it through. Everyday I have moments where I imagine my store--it's subliminal at this point.

Currently, we are gearing up for our first promotional event happening next week. Our space is as pulled together as it's ever been and we're hanging art and mirrors this weekend. It's shaping up. I'm focusing on connecting with new dealers and consignors so we can get a fresh flush of inventory soon.

This time of year lends itself to inspiration and warm, cozy images. Additionally, my best friend of forever just got engaged. So naturally, I've been scouring blogs and websites for great ideas to make her special day all the more. I can appreciate how well design and weddings pair. Makes for great research:)

Here are some favs I've come across...

I just want to be here, wrapped up in a woolly scarf....mittens, in laughable conversation, warm beverage in hand.

www.reveinteriors.org

After hours of pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to get my URL to map to my website, upload photos, ect, ect.....it's ready for viewing. Of course, I could probably never do it again but either way it's live and I did it all by trial and error! I'm making minor adjustments, like getting the image on the home page centered and uploading more photos since less than half of the inventory is posted...so view with an open mind:)
Just one more thing to check off the list!

REVE'S ONLINE STORE COMING SOON!

There's been a ton of behind the scenes work going on the last few weeks. With more inventory arriving, finding new resources and forming new partnerships our little business is making headway. Since the blog is sort of a new thing for me and I'm not the most technically advanced person for the job, getting all this updated online seems to take forever.

At any rate, it's coming soon!

READY FOR BUSINESS!

This weekend I made so much progress. The panels went up and the merchandise moved in! It has taken a few weeks to get everything pulled together but I finally made it happen. My original plan was to have the panels extending all the way down the sides of our space. However, a shortage of fabric and $$$ meant making the best out of what we had. Fortunately, Ali @ DRW (Designer Rug Warehouse) who also works out of Horizon Home suggested hanging rugs in leu of panels. I think it turned out great.

While tagging and recording our inventory, I noticed the space got a good deal of traffic compared to the day before when I was hanging the panels and things weren't so pulled together. I even had a couple interested in buying a pair of chairs--the only thing they couldn't agree on was which room to put them in.

So, here are pics of the space after a weekend's worth of work. I'm excited to start promoting the business and finding new consigners! One day at a time and eventually it all comes together.

 FINALLY, THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER!
Allyn & I found the gold letters at an antique market months ago.

A personal favorite piece of mine is the antique metal mailbox sitting on the floor. It's super heavy and still has the box numbers on it. I thought it would be a great window box or just used an organizer.

We found these antique chairs and pedestals at the same antique market as the gold letters.
They have a significant amount of age on them.

The chocolate velvet wing chairs are another personal favorite.
These are the chairs I had a couple looking at today.

The mirrored dividers are one-of-a-kind. They can be sold separate or as a pair.
You don't see these often and they are usually really expensive.
